Negative: When reading reviews I only picked up on the amazing breakfasts and therefore we were shocked on arrival to learn that unfortunately the lady of the house was no longer doing them. We were provided with coffee, fruit & yoghurt so we had something to start the day.

Positive: The home is beautiful and the room we booked was comfortable. Lovely view of the grazing cows across the street and her garden was enviable for sure. The bathroom, although separate, was well appointed and the on demand hot water was superb. The water pressure was perfection, especially after a long day of driving.
Negative: Upon arrival we rang the door all and were eventually greeted at the door. It seemed like we were not expected but thee hostess said things were crazy that day “because of the rain”. We were shown to our room upstairs and told that she would bring the missing bathrobe from the dryer and that breakfast items would be available on the upstairs landing in the morning. No other conversation was made and we felt like we were intruding into this family’s personal life. We did not feel welcomed. Serving breakfast items on the landing was also strange and a little uncomfortable as we were wanting to use our separate bathroom across the landing but people were standing outside our door making breakfast. It was strange and we wondered why that wouldn’t be served in the downstairs dining room. We had wanted to sleep in as we had a long drive the day prior but folks congregating outside our door did not make that possible. We packed and left and did not use the breakfast items.
